2014 WID Frontier Fellow

Are you a UW-Madison undergraduate with a good idea? A vision of something you could accomplish in a year, either alone or with 1-3 other students, if you were embedded in the vibrant, transdisciplinary community of the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery (WID)?

If so, you should apply to become a WID Frontier Fellow

WID invites applications from individuals or teams of two to four UW-Madison undergraduate students for summer of 2014 and January of 2015. Frontier Fellows spend a year as part of the WID community, working towards a specific goal, whether a research project, event or artistic product. We’re looking for all types of ideas, however preliminary you may think they are, so long as they align with WID’s mission: to use transdisciplinarity to enhance knowledge generation and fuel discoveries.

Fellows receive a stipend of $500 for individual fellows or $250 for each member of a team. They will also be paired with a WID mentor and will have access to diverse WID events, including complimentary lunches in the Friday Lunch in the Link series. Furthermore, Frontier Fellows will be able to compete for an internal grant to support their proposed project. Depending on the project, independent study credits might also be available.

Submit your application by April 6 for a June 1 start, and November 1 for a January 1 start
