Big Learning Event Scholarship

The Office of Sustainability is offering 5 undergraduate students and 5 graduate students a scholarship to gain them admission to the 2013 UW Big Learning Event ( http://biglearningevent.wisc.edu/ ) on June 5th and 6th at the Gordon Dining and Event Center. The event will give students the unique opportunity to engage with today’s brightest minds and find solutions to today’s most pressing issues. Guest speakers include: Saleem Ali , Professor of Environmental Studies at the University of Vermont’s Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources and the founding Director of the Institute for Environmental Diplomacy and Security at UVM’s James Jeffords Center for Policy Research Jill Tarter , Astronomer and former Director of the Center for SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Lynda Barry , Author and cartoonist credited with expanding the literary, thematic and emotional range of American comics Molly Carnes , Tenured Professor in the Department of Medicine at UW

International Symposium on Media & Mass Communication Seeking Participants

The International Symposium on Media & Mass Communication will be held in Bulgaria, Sunny Beach resort September 10–14, 2013.   The Symposium is organized by the Science and Education Foundation (Bulgaria), and Faculty of Journalism, Saint Petersburg State University (Russia).  To view the participation requirements, please visit the website .  The papers presented as talks or posters at the conference will be published in  the Journal of International Scientific Publications: Media & Mass Communication . Call for HSO Board Members
