This years 2014 Fall Diversity Forum, Pulse 2014: Diversity's Evolving Paradigm & Practical Approaches is fast approaching!
When: Monday, Nov. 10 9:00am - 4pm (registration beginning at 8:30)

after lunch--Wisconsin State Historical Society Auditorium
*Plan to come to either day, or whatever part of the event your schedule will allow. A continental style breakfast and lunch will be provided both days.

This years two-day conference for educators, students and community leaders across Wisconsin will feature keynote speakers and national thought-leaders Rebecca Ryan, entrepreneur, author, founder and co-owner of Next Generation Consulting, and Peter Aranda, Executive Director and CEO of The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, a non-profit alliance that includes some of the countrys best business schools, major corporations and sought-after MBA candidates. Well also have another informative session on UW-Madisons role in national and local history with our Faculty Panel from the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act.
On our second day is a day of don't-miss breakout sessions and workshops on top diversity topics and our own campus-wide diversity efforts. After lunch, well move across the street to the Wisconsin State Historical Society Auditorium, where well celebrate Veterans Day with a closing keynote from Major General Marcia Anderson, the highest ranking African-American woman in the U.S Army Reserves.
Discussion topics will range broadly from a town hall on Race, Community and Law Enforcement, and the concept of a post-racial America to issues impacting women and Wisconsin Public Televisions Wounded Warriors documentary on Native American veterans. We also will review and discuss implementation plans for Forward Together: A Diversity Framework for UW-Madison.
A sampling of our concurrent sessions includes:

-Queer @ UW: Negotiating the evolving concepts of LGBT identity
-Aprende=Aprecia=Acepta: A path to creating a culture that finds value in diversity
-Leveling the playing field for women on UW-Madisons campus
-Delta's Academic Excellence Initiative: Addressing the Classroom Achievement/Equity Gap
-The Business Case for Diversity
-16 Years of Learning Together: An Exploration and Celebration of Learning Communities For Institutional Change and Excellence (LCICE)
