Energy Hub Annual Conference: "The Taste of Energy"

Are you interested in energy, food, or sustainability issues? Or even wondering where food comes from and how it is distributed? Would you like to learn more about topics ranging from how does food get from the field or farm to the plate or how much energy does it take to grow food? If so, please consider attending the annual Energy Hub conference, “The Taste of Energy” on Friday, November 21st. Currently, food production and distribution consumes 30 percent of the world’s total energy and creates 22 percent of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions. The conference will focus on current issues of food and its counterpart energy and how the topics are related.

Topics include:
• The Story of Food
• Energy Efficiency and Lighting in the Food Industry
• Water Food Nexus
• Student Org Food Panel
• Campus Research
• Local Business Food Panel
• Food Safety and Quality

"The Taste of Energy" will host several speakers in the morning and several in the afternoon with refreshments and a research poster competition held between the two sessions. Conference sponsors will bring representatives to speak with students about their energy related companies and university departments in between presentations. This is a great networking opportunity.
