CPHA Health Professions Shadowing Program Summer 2016

The Center for Pre-Health Advising has partnered with UW Hospital and Clinics to offer UW-Madison students a two-week residential shadowing program in August 2016. Our goal is to help students make more informed decisions about career choices and become more competitive applicants. The program is designed to help students who lack connections to health professionals make these connections.  All participants will have the opportunity to shadow a variety of health professionals for two hours each day. Students will observe clinicians in their routine responsibilities and learn about the qualities that characterize successful health care providers. In addition to daily clinical observation the program includes the following experiences: Students will meet daily with first- or second-year students in a health professions program on the UW-Madison campus. Students will hear from the providers who work in local free clinics and community health organizations

Be a Badger Volunteer this summer

Badger Volunteers has an 8-week summer program!  What better way to spend the summer than getting off campus, building real-world skills and meeting new people? Badger Volunteers is UW's largest co-curricular volunteer program. It is hosted by the Morgridge Center for Public Service at the Red Gym. Students commit to volunteering weekly, on the same day, and at the community partner site for the entire semester/summer. The Morgridge Center provides transportation to and from the volunteer sites.  The list of volunteer options is long and diverse. Possible community partners include the Aldo Leopold Nature Center, Community Action Coalition for South Central Wisconsin, Friends of Henry Vilas Zoo, The Boys and Girls Club of Dane County, lots of local schools and more!  Check out the Morgridge Center for Public Service website to find the right match for you!
