Honors 181

Honors 181 is a mandatory group advising session for incoming first-year L&S Honors Program students. It lasts 60 minutes and is scheduled during the first week of instruction in September. It’s not an actual class that you have to attend all semester—it’s just a single meeting.

When: Wednesday, September 7; Thursday, September 8; Friday, September 9
Where: Washburn Observatory Library

Signing up for Honors 181 for the first time?
  • Follow this link to the Honors 181 Registration site
  • Select “Letters & Science Honors 181”
  • Identify a session that does not conflict with your fall course schedule
  • Click on the red link, Net ID option, UW-Madison and then enter your login credentials
  • Click Confirm Registration
  • Write down the time, date and location (Washburn Observatory Library) of your session somewhere where you look. You will also get an automatic reminder several days before your session 

Need to change your Honors 181 date/time?
  • Follow this link to the OHRD homepage
  • Login using your NetID and password
  • At the top of the page, select Catalog, My Registration and Learning Transcript, Registrations
  • Cancel the registration for the Honors 181 session that you can no longer attend
  • Follow the directions above to register for a new Honors 181 session 

I am unable to attend any of the sessions. What should I do?

We understand that the first week of college is very busy. It’s important that you receive the information that is provided in this session. If you absolutely cannot attend, call the Honors Program Office to ask about other opportunities to receive the content.
