Sign Up for The Honors Senior Thesis Symposium

The Honors Program invites and encourages you to attend the Honors Senior Thesis Symposium on Saturday, April 22, 2017; 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Union South.

As many of you know, the Honors in the Major track culminates in a Senior Honors Thesis. This independent research experience involves choosing a thesis topic, finding a thesis advisor, conducting and collecting research, analyzing data, writing the paper, and finally presenting a year’s worth of research at the Senior Honors Thesis Symposium.

Are you writing a thesis? Register to present!
This event is an exciting opportunity to present your research to your peers, faculty, and university staff, as well as your family and friends. Your thesis need not be picture-perfect in order to present; rather, we encourage you to embrace this opportunity to discuss your findings thus far, your methods and the research experience at large.

If you are planning to participate, please register and save the date: Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM at Union South

Registration is free and includes a light breakfast, a lunch, and a reception. We will provide you with a more detailed program for the event as the date approaches, but please note that all presenters will be expected to attend the entire symposium.

Registration for student presenters as well as guests (family, friends, advisors) can be found on the Honors Program Website
Please register to participate in the symposium no later than Sunday, April 2nd.

Please register guests by Sunday, April 9th

All students writing a Senior Thesis are invited to participate. If you received a Senior Honors Thesis Award from our office, you are required to participate in the symposium. You still must officially register so that we have your title and abstract to include in the planning. If you received a Hilldale award, participation in our event will fulfill your obligation to present your findings at the Undergraduate Research Symposium.

Not Presenting? Please come support your fellow Badgers as they present!
Attending the Senior Honors Thesis Symposium will give you a chance to learn more about undergraduate research and about the Senior Honors Thesis experience. Students present their research in a wide array of disciplines and departments. In the past topics have included everything from Biology to Political Science to Art History.

At the symposium you will have the opportunity to meet other Honors students, hear about the amazing work of your peers, ask questions about research, and hopefully leave feeling inspired to write a Senior Honors Thesis yourself. We would love to see you all there!
