L&S Honors Program Graduation Reception

Graduating this May?  You and your guests are invited to attend the L&S Honors Program reception from 3:15- 5:00 p.m. in the Gordon Dining and Events Center on Friday May 12.  No registration is necessary. Remarks will begin promptly at 3:45 - please arrive before then so that you can be recognized by name at the event. Light refreshments will be served. While you are welcome to wear your cap and gown to the Honors Program reception, most student and guests choose to wear dress casual attire.  BUCKY will be making an appearance from 3:15 -3:45. So come early if you want a picture!   Keep in mind, this is the day before the university-wide commencement in Camp Randall Stadium on May 13th. December 2017 Graduation Checks

Planning to graduate in December 2017? The L&S Honors Program will be hosting graduation checks at the Honors Program Office in Washburn Observatory during the last week in April. Please stop in to make sure that you are on track to complete your Honors in the Liberal Arts (HLA) degree requirements: Tuesday, April 25, 3-4:30 PM Friday, April 28, 2-4 PM These will be drop-in sessions so there is no need to call or schedule an appointment in advance; just show up and we will be happy to chat with you. We hope that you will stop in so that we can make sure that you are all set to graduate! If you have not yet applied to graduate in your Student Center, please do so. Applying to graduate will include you on several directories across campus including: the commencement program, graduation regalia offers, and other contact lists. Summer Computer Programming Internship

Are you interested in computer programming? Consider applying to a full-time internship position with Professor Brian Gould in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics. The internship requires good computer programming skills. Ideally the intern would have knowledge of the Python software system as well as development of web-based applications.  If you're interested in applying, please send your cv and an email application to Professor Gould .

Please join the Alexander Hamilton Society on April 13th at 6:45PM in Law School Room 5246 for a special event titled  The Rise of Modern Populism and Nationalism . Gerard Alexander, Associate Professor at the Woodrow Wilson Department of Politics at the University of Virginia, will be coming to speak as well as John Hall and John Sharpless, both from the UW-Madison History Department. There will be free food!
