Liberal Arts/Business Career Panel

Hear UW-Madison alumni talk about their careers - and how they got them - in business at Epic, Target Corporate, the Federal Government in Washington, D.C., and as curators in art museums. They are savvy networkers and world travelers and they want to share their advice with you as you embark on your job hunt. Don't miss it.

The event will take place on Wednesday, February 20, from 5:00-6:00p.m. in the Memorial Union (TITU).

Meet the Panelists

Susan Burns - Project Manager, Epic, History Alum: 2012 History Major from UW-Madison who was a member of the UW Marching Band and a part-time employee for the History Department as a student. Susie has a natural knack for computers/IT and is a world traveler.

Jacob Esselstrom - Curator, Visual Resource Center, UW-Madison. Art History Alum:  I have a BA (University of Minnesota-Duluth) and an MA in Art History (UW-Madison). Most of my experience is in collections management of one kind or another, working in positions in both archive and museum environments. Since the summer of 2007 I have been the Curator of the Visual Resources Collection for the Department of Art History here at the UW. I oversee both the physical and digital image collections and play a large role in the way the department uses technology for teaching, both in and out of the classroom.

Morgan Ramaker - Business Analyst, Patient Care, UW-Health, Journalism/Marketing Alum: A Journalism and Marketing graduate from UW-Madison in 2006 who will talk about her diverse career path thus far as a Business Analyst for Target Corporate in Minneapolis, Legislator for the Government Accountability Office (GAO) in Washington, D.C. and now as a Business Analyst for Patient Care at UW Health. Morgan can speak to what employers look for when hiring and the importance of networking to find jobs.

Alex Zarley - Quality Assurance and Implementation Services, Epic, Classics Alum: I studied Classics and Archaeology at UW-Madison. Alex graduated in May 2010. I have continued pursuing archaeology as well, spending the past three summers excavating in Romania, Jordan, and Greece.
