Internship: Digital Communications and Social Media

The Center for Jewish Studies seeks a student intern to assist staff in maintaining and expanding the Center's digital communications, particularly in the areas of podcasting, social media, and website maintenance.

Job duties:

- Attend and record all CJS lectures and events, typically 3-5 times per semester. Lectures usually take place on weekday afternoons.

- Edit podcasts for sound quality and content; add voice-over introduction and conclusion to podcasts.

- Create summary of podcast content for Jewish Studies website

- Post podcasts online through iTunes U

- Assist CJS staff in publicizing podcasts

- Maintain and expand CJS Facebook page. 

- Assist CJS staff in maintaining Wordpress-based website. 


Requirements:

- Must be available to attend all Jewish Studies lectures

- Ability to commit for the 2013-14 academic year

- Experience in editing audio recordings 

- Experience in creating or maintaining Facebook page for business or organization.

- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies (we will train in iTunes U and WordPress)


Desirable qualifications:

- Interest/background in the field of Jewish Studies or a related field

- Prior experience using WordPress and/or knowledge of html



Pay: $10/hour


Hours: will vary according to Jewish Studies events calendar but will average 4-6 hours/week. With the exception of event attendance, the student may create their own work schedule.
