Registration to present at the Senior Honors Thesis Symposium is now open

Calling all senior honors thesis writers! Are you interested in sharing your thesis research with fellow honors students? Curious about the work your peers are doing in majors throughout the College of Letters & Science? If so, now is the time to register to present at the L&S Honors Program's third annual Senior Honors Thesis Symposium!

As we announced last semester, this event is an exciting opportunity to present your research to your peers, faculty, and university staff, as well as your family and friends. Your thesis need not be picture-perfect in order to present; rather, we encourage you to embrace this opportunity to discuss your findings thus far, your methods and the research experience at large.

If you are planning to participate, please register here and save the date: Saturday, April 5 from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Union South. Registration includes a light breakfast, a lunch, and a reception. We will provide you with a more detailed program for the event as the date approaches, but please not that all presenters will be expected to attend the entire symposium. Please register to participate in the symposium no later than Monday, February 17th. Faculty, friends, and family who are interested will be able to register to attend the symposium at a later date.

All students writing a Senior Honors Thesis are invited to participate. If you received a Senior Honors Thesis Award from our office, you are required to participate in the symposium. You still must officially register so that we have your title and abstract to include in the planning. If you received a Hilldale award, participation in our event will fulfill your obligation to present your findings at the Undergraduate Research Symposium.

In preparation for the symposium, we will be offering a workshop on how to give an academic talk on Monday, March 3rd at 4:30 p.m. in 8417 Social Science. More information about that workshop will be sent out later in the semester, for now mark your calendars and plan to attend.

If you have any questions about this event or registration, please call the Honors Program at 608-262-2984 or email us at honors@honors.ls.wisc.edu. We look forward to celebrating your hard work with you!
