Undergraduate Research Opportunity in Genetics Lab
The Genetics Lab is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated undergraduate (preferably
sophomore or higher as of fall 2013) interested in gaining research
experience. The main goal of the project is to identify genomic regions
important in the evolution of large body size in an Island population of
house mice. The position entails breeding wild caught mice, daily
weight measurements, xray imaging, euthanization, and data entry. The
mice are housed off campus with bus access. We are most interested in
any individual with prior research or animal handling experience. The
individual needs to be willing to travel to and from the facility either
by bus or car and comfortable with euthanization. If the student shows
ambition and is interested there is potential to be part of the
resulting publication.
Please contact parmenter@wisc.edu if you are interested. Please include your C.V./resume, unofficial transcripts, and some background about yourself.
