Honors Senior Thesis Summer Research Grants

Interested in writing a Senior Honors Thesis? The L&S Honors Program offers a Summer Research Grant to help you get an early start on your project. See below for details!

The Honors Senior Thesis Summer Research Grant enables students to undertake more demanding and extensive senior thesis research projects than might otherwise be possible. Besides recognition of an excellent thesis proposal, award recipients are provided an award of up to $3,000 to cover research-related expenses. These resources may enable students to travel to archives or research sites, or to initiate other research activities that require special funding.

Please attend one of the Senior Honors Thesis Information Sessions in the Washburn Observatory conference room to learn more about the grant and about the senior honors thesis in general. Attendance at one of the workshops is not required, but can help with the process. The workshops will be:

  • Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. (feel free to stay for Wednesday at Washburn after the info session)
  • Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 12:20 – 1:20 p.m.
If you cannot attend a workshop but would like additional information about the Summer Senior Honors Thesis Grant process, please email Matt Kohlstedt at matt.kohlstedt@wisc.edu to set up a separate meeting.
Review of applications and selection of Honors Senior Thesis Summer Research Grant recipients will be conducted by the L&S Honors Program Faculty Honors Committee.
