The Morgridge Center for Public Service, Community Shares of Wisconsin, UHS and the School of Journalism invite you to Walk the Walk! Walk the Walk is an annual tour of social and environmental justice organizations in the UW-Madison neighborhood. Students, faculty and staff can choose from one of three themed walking tours to learn about nonprofits near campus that are advancing social and environmental justice. This year we will place a special emphasis on how students can build careers in policy and advocacy-oriented organizations. For more info, check out the Morgridge Center website. Come join the newest student competition team at UW-Madison! The national Collegiate Wind Competition combines the expertise of students from a variety of engineering, business, communications, and social science programs, and challenges them to utilize their individual skills to develop state-of-the-art wind energy solutions as a team.  Undergraduate students from all majors and disciplines are welcome to apply for the 2015-2016 school year. Team members will be selected based on the diversity of backgrounds and interests. DIY-UW and F. H. King Students for Sustainable Agriculture present a valorous volunteer opportunity in community and agricultural development projects: Do you marvel in the fresh air and crave the fruits of a farmer's labor? Are you interested in self-sufficiency or community engagement? An enthusiast of mechanical or agricultural innovation? In dedication to Axel Adams, a UW-Madison alumnus and founder of this DIY-UW program, the opportunities to be had are abounding.  From ingenious trellising systems to compost tea collectors to metal working stations, the possibilities for development are many and marvelous. Wisconservation is a new sustainability engagement initiative to promote resource stewardship. This program is designed for all students who care about the environment and want to protect our natural resources. UW–Madison also considers resource stewardship a priority, which is why it is listed as a primary objective in the university’s Campus Strategic Framework. Wisconservation offers everyone on campus -- including students, faculty, and staff -- the chance to help work toward this important goal by promoting conservation both on and off campus. The Wisconsin Energy and Sustainability Challenge invites all UW-Madison students to contribute their own creative solutions and apply for the prizes associated with the challenge!
