Join GOAL (Getting Off-campus Adolescents to be Leaders)

Join a leadership project! GOAL was started by an Honors student and works to help Madison middle-schoolers achieve their goals. Here is what the leaders of GOAL had to say:   Do you enjoy working with kids? So do we! GOAL stands for Getting Off-campus Adolescents to be Leaders. Our mission is to teach middle school student the public speaking skills they need to become great leaders and professionals. We currently volunteer once a week at St. James School, not far from the UW campus. We also plan field trips with the middle school students to give them opportunities to explore the campus with a group of college students. Lastly, we host awesome socials that allow people in GOAL to get to know each other better and build new and lasting friendships. The Journal of Undergraduate Science and Technology is looking to fill positions

The Journal of Undergraduate Science and Technology (JUST)  is a NEW biannual undergraduate research journal founded and maintained by an interdisciplinary team of undergraduates with the help of faculty and graduate advisors. JUST is dedicated to showcasing and disseminating undergraduate excellence in science and technology research. In strong support of The Wisconsin Idea, the mission of JUST is three-fold: First, to garner appreciation for the hard work and discoveries of aspiring undergraduate researchers at UW. Second, to educate and disseminate knowledge of outstanding undergraduate research to the Madison community in a highly conversational format, benefiting the lay community of Madison and beyond. Wisconsin Open Education Community Fellowships

The Morgridge Center for Public Service has opened up a new cycle of the Wisconsin Open Education Community Fellowship (WOECF) for projects to be completed during summer 2016. Complete fellowship information is available on the Morgridge Center for Public Service website.  The WOECF invites undergraduate UW-Madison students to collaborate with a public service organization in a Wisconsin community to design and implement a community engagement project during summer 2016. The project must address either a conservation or literature education effort that coincides with the topic of one of six MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) UW-Madison faculty are offering during 2015. Have you been thinking about completing the UW-Madison Leadership Certificate?   The Center for Leadership & Involvement (CfLI) would like to invite all UW-Madison students, who are interested in learning more about the Leadership Certificate to attend one of three upcoming Informational Orientation Sessions. FIRST SESSION: When:  Tuesday, September 22, 2015 Time:   6:30-7:30pm SECOND SESSION: When: Wednesday, September 23, 2015 Time :  6:30-7:30pm THIRD SESSION: When: Tuesday, October 13, 2015 Time: 6:30-7:30pm Note: All sessions will be held in the Masley Media Room, 1 st floor, Red Gym The Orientation format will be a general overview geared toward students who are just beginning the Leadership Certificate application process. Through interactive group work we will discuss questions you may have about your specific leadership experiences.

The Wisconsin Festival of Ideas

The WUD Distinguished Lecture Series is proud to present the 3rd annual Wisconsin Festival of Ideas!  When: Sunday April 26, 2015; 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Where: Frederic March Play Circle-- Second Floor of Memorial Union What is it?  The Wisconsin Festival of Ideas is a one-day multidisciplinary conference event featuring UW-Madison's top faculty and students as speakers. Our university is pushing boundaries in education and research, and this event seeks to showcase some of the best and brightest ideas and collaborations happening on campus. There will be nine presenters--check out the session information below!  The conference runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., but feel free to come for any sessions you can!
