Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)

The Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Center is looking for talented and interested undergraduate students at UW-Madison to get involved in stem cell research this summer. Selected fellows will be paired up with a graduate student or postdoc mentor in one of the SCRMC faculty labs. Fellows will attend journal club style meetings with their mentors during the summer to discuss current stem cell literature as well as hear from UW-Madison faculty.

Up to five students will be selected for funded fellowships which include a $4000 stipend and $1000 allocated for the lab for reagents and supplies. Funding is provided by the SCRMC. The SURF program is administered by the Wisconsin Stem Cell Roundtable (WiSCR), an organization of UW graduate student and postdoctoral researchers that aims to foster interaction, collaboration, dialogue, and support among UW stem cell researchers.

The deadline to apply is March 1, 2013. Visit the SURF website to learn more about the requirements of the program, and to find out how to apply.
