Biocore Course Planning

Planning your Biology coursework? Consider Biocore for the next academic year! Biocore is an integrated course sequence fulfilling requirements for any biological science major. It includes introductory to intermediate level honors courses that build over four semesters, with smaller class sizes and and high instructor to student ratio. There is a strong emphasis on critical thinking, scientific communication, and process of science. The Biocore program includes peer mentoring opportunities, outreach, and directed study options, all in a collaborative, supportive learning community. 

The prerequisites for Biocore include general chemistry 104, 109, or 115, first semester calculus Math 221 (or equivalent), and Fall 2014 (or previous) enrollment in Org Chem 343.

Biocore courses start in the Fall. The Online application for Fall 2014 is available on Friday, December 13. The regular application deadline is March 7, 2014. Want to know more? Visit the Biocore website!
