Japan-America Student Conference

Initiated in 1934, Japan-America Student Conference (JASC) boasts alumni such as Henry Kissinger and brings together 72 student leaders from Japan and the U.S. for a month with the goal of improving U.S.-Japan relations. Delegates will delve into critical topics ranging from Art & Identity to Immigration to Technological Advancements to Native American Experience, learn firsthand from established leaders and field trips, build their professional network through networking receptions, and forge life-long friendships. When: July 30, 2014-August 24, 2014
Where: Des Moines, IA, San Francisco, CA, New York, NY, then Washington, D.C.
Deadline: March 31, 2014 or until a diverse full delegation is reached
Description
The conference will be conducted in English, and students from all fields of study are welcome. The Ichiro & Toyoko Matsudaira Memorial Scholarship annually funds one UW-Madison student's participation in JASC.
