University Bookstore Academic Excellence Awards

The University Book Store Academic Excellence Awards provide $1000 to undergraduate students who have distinguished themselves by completing outstanding projects, such as a senior thesis, at UW-Madison.  Students must be enrolled in a degree program during the 2014-15 academic year (December 2014 graduates may apply).  Up to twenty awards are given annually.

Eligible projects include:
  • research papers in all fields
  • creative arts projects, such as writing, media arts, visual or performing arts
  • a self-contained section of a larger project (with statement explaining full project and sections yet to be completed)
  • in cases of jointly authored or produced submissions, each person's contribution must be clearly stated. If the applicant was part of a research team, the applicant's role and contributions to the project must be delineated.
  • Published research papers may be submitted only as an appendix to the application, and must identify the applicant's contribution, and state the extent of the applicant's independent work. The application submission must include a draft of the paper authored by the applicant.
Applications are due March 23, 2015.
