Informational Workshop on Trewartha and Mark Mensink Research Grants

Thanks to the generosity of several donors, the Letters & Science Honors Program offers a number of grants to help recipients fund their senior thesis research.

This fall semester, the grants include: the Trewartha Undergraduate Honors Research Grant and the Mark Mensink Honors Research Grant.

  • Wednesday, September 21: 1:20-2:20 pm
  • Thursday, September 22: 10:00-11:00 am
Both workshops will be held in the Washburn Observatory conference room. (Come in the main entrance, walk towards the east side of the building. The conference room is at the northeast corner of the building.) Attendance is not mandatory but strongly encouraged. There is no need to RSVP. The workshops are staggered to try and work around class schedules, but if you need to come late or leave early that's okay!

The application will be available at scholarships.wisc.edu on Friday, September 16th. Copies of the application questions will be available at the workshops. The scholarship system should match eligible students to the scholarship, but every year some eligible students do not match correctly. Contact Matt Kohlstedt (contact information below) to be manually added to the scholarship application if you think you are eligible.

All applications submitted for the Trewartha Research Grant will be considered for the Mark Mensink Research Grant. Note that you may not receive a Trewartha or Mensink if your senior thesis research has been or will be supported by another university undergraduate research grant.

The deadline for submitting your applications is Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 11:59 p.m.

Contact Matt Kohlstedt at matt.kohlstedt@wisc.edu with any questions. If you are not available during the designated information sessions, Matt will make individual or small group appointments.
