Morgridge Center Wisconsin Idea Undergraduate Fellowship (WIF) Information Sessions

The Morgridge Center for Public Service will be holding information sessions for the Wisconsin Idea Undergraduate Fellowships (WIF) for 2014-2015.

The information sessions will take place Monday, October 14, 4:00- 5:00pm and Tuesday, October 15, 5:30 – 6:30pm

WIFs are a great way for students to explore projects beyond current classroom bounds, and for students to gain professional skills and practical experience within their field of study. Fellowship recipients receive up to $5000 in a personal stipend and up to $2000 for the project implementation budget, depending on the duration of the project and the size of the group. Recipients have to register for three credits and will have limited presentation and meeting attendance requirements throughout the year.

For more information about the WIF program, please see below and visit our website or contact Malika Taalbi, WIF Advisor, at mtaalbi@wisc.edu or 414-467-9500.

In the tradition of the Wisconsin Idea - which declares that education should improve people’s lives beyond the university classroom – WIF Fellowships are awarded to projects that enhance student learning while working to solve issues identified by a community. These projects are semester, including summer-only, or year-long projects designed by a UW-Madison undergraduate (or a group of undergraduates) in collaboration with a community organization (whether local, national or international) and a UW-Madison faculty or academic staff mentor. All WIF students are invited to present their work at the Undergraduate Symposium in the spring.
